DELTA 8 THC

Delta-8 tetrahydrocannabinol, also known as Delta-8 THC, is a psychoactive compound found in the Cannabis sativa plant, of which cannabis and hemp are two types. Delta-8 THC is one of over 100 cannabinoids produced naturally by the cannabis plant but is not found in significant amounts in the cannabis and hemp plant. As a result, concentrated amounts of delta-8 THC are typically manufactured from hemp-derived cannabidiol (CBD).

The popularity surrounding Delta 8 THC has skyrocketed over the past few years. With hundreds of products flooding the market daily, potential consumers are left with more questions than answers when searching for safe, pure, high-quality Delta 8 products.

Delta 8 THC’s chemical structure is similar to that of its well-known cousin, Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (Delta-9-THC), the main psychoactive compound found in cannabis.

Both Delta-8 and Delta-9 are forms of THC. When people refer to THC, they are usually referring to Delta-9 THC, found in higher concentrations in both cannabis and hemp. Both produce a euphoric, fuzzy feeling, with Delta 8 reported as a milder overall effect with little to no anxiety, panic, or paranoia.

Delta-8 is a naturally occurring compound found in hemp and cannabis. Delta 8 THC is found in smaller amounts compared to Delta 9 THC and CBD.

The delta-8-THC craze began when an overproduction of hemp grown in 2018, extracted from US-grown hemp caused the price of CBD to plummet. Producers began looking for ways to turn their of CBD into something profitable. Using simple chemistry reported in the 1960s, the industry got creative and started experimenting with ways to convert CBD into delta-8-THC. The resulting products target consumers who are looking to relieve stress and anxiety, especially those who don’t want to use traditional cannabis products or those who live in places where cannabis products are not legally available.
